4 Marketing Lessons from Hotel Transylvania

“I guess it’s always been hard to see the positive side of things.” -Dracula

With Halloween around the corner, all of us are looking for new inspirations and new ideas to get more traction and get more customers to your business.

Hotel Transylvania, Dracula’s lavish five-star resort where monsters and their families reside and this is the place where no humans are allowed.

On one special weekend, Dracula invites all of their best friends - Frankenstein and his wife, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, the Werewolf family, and many more people - to celebrate Mavis’ 118th birthday.

Throwing a party for all the monsters was no problem, but the party really starts when one ordinary man - Johnny stumbles into the hotel and changes everything!

The Dracula goes into overprotective mode when Johnny discovers the resort and falls for the count’s teenage daughter.

Though the storyline is interesting, the more interesting fact that will astound you is that there are marketing lessons to be learnt from this beautiful family entertainment.

4 Marketing Lessons from Hotel Transylvania

There are interesting lessons to be learnt from Hotel Transylvania. Are you ready?

Keep it Up

All around the world, there was a buzz that Hotel Transylvania is only for monsters. Not only that was spooky but also it was an exciting concept for humans.

While they were making the hotel, the monsters made sure that their hotel was not at all accessible to the humans. For that, they created a series of hurdles that would be impossible for humans to cross—except for Johnny.

He reached the hotel with great difficulty but what kept him going was the curiosity to know the happenings inside the Hotel Transylvania.

And there you go! The key to getting more customers is to create a strong buzz before launching a new product into the market. Because that makes the customers curious and thus, more and more customers join your movement.

Mavis’ Zing

Mavis was finding her zing for a long time then. Similarly, you must look and identify your niche accordingly.

Or you can share your motivation drives with your customers or what motivated you to start your business and maybe even share your story or idea with your customers.

It is a great way to keep connected with your customers.

Customers Come First

Dracula worked hard consistently to serve his guests and made sure that none of his customers and guests were disappointed one bit. He did everything in his capacity to meet his guests’ requirements.

Similarly, you need to make sure that you bend your rules and  make the required changes as per the customers’ demands.

Always remember that it is because of the customers that your business thrives and not because of your rules and regulations.

Be Open to New Experiences

This movie was a great predicament to the notion that humans and monsters can not only coexist but also be good friends with each other especially when Johnny became a good friend of the monsters.

And you too should be open to new experiences, conduct a regular R&D, and keep up with surprising your target customers in one way or the other.

Conclusion

While these few ideas might bring a zing to your business, you need to constantly work hard to keep your customers engaged and even increase the size of your customer base.

You may be good at some of these, but no one here is good at all of these—well, except for us.
