5 Lessons to Learn from Two and a Half Men for Your Design Agency

As a creative designer or design agency, we work round the clock to make brand identity and forget to take a deep breath and relax. And so, we keep coming up with new and innovative ways to work and chill together. This is one of those times, people.

“The day you start accepting limitations is the day you start dying, and I am not dying, my friend. I am living life to the fullest”.

From 2003 to 2015, the infamous sitcom Two and a Half Men managed to make us laugh till our eyes water. Seven years later, they’re still making us laugh with their abrupt sense of humor and just by being themselves.

The series was in controversy when it was airing because of the public feud between Charlie Sheen and Chuck Lorre. But, we are not going to talk about that (We’ll gossip, but not now).

So, the series begins from the time…

Actually, no. Scratch that. Watch the series if you haven’t (No, you won’t regret it).

For those who have been following our blogs for quite a time now, they know that we take design inferences, lessons, and inspirations from famous TV series. And for those who don’t know, we have done it with F.R.I.E.N.D.S and now we are back with another TV show.

And let’s roll!!

Take Design Inspirations from Two and a Half Men

1) Jake Tastes Lip Gloss

Hahaha! You remember the scene when a girl asks Jake if he would like to ‘taste’ her lip gloss, and the guy actually touched the girl’s lip, licked his finger, and yes, he did like the lip gloss. (What a character, bro! 🔥)

However, this scene gives the inspiration that it is never too late to try something weird in life.

In the world of art and designing, you’ll be surprised to know that it is the weird combination of elements, fonts, and images that give you the best output. And who knows that might turn out to be one of the best works in your portfolio.

2) Charlie Meets Bill

Charlie was so excited to meet Jill, one of his ex-girlfriends (Charlie being Charlie!), but ends up talking to a man called Bill and ends up in a slump because he thought that he’s been stood up. But, life had other jokes to play on him.

As the conversation went, the truth came out that Bill was actually Jill. And they decided to have a sex-change operation. Evidently, Charlie was damn uncomfortable with that and when he took them home, Bill met Evelyn and the rest is history. (Undoubtedly, one of my favorite episodes 🤫)

Anyway, the lesson that you take away from this whole scenario is that you must always expect the unexpected.

Not everything will turn out in your favor.

There are going to be times when you’ll feel strongly about your creatives, but your clients will change the design entirely with their inputs and changes. And you will have to deal with it because at the end of the day, it’s their brand and you cannot make their decisions.

3)Walden Faces a Dilemma

I know you are confused to read this because let’s face it… Walden was in a dilemma throughout the four seasons that he appeared in.

Anyway, you all must remember the time when a traveler came knocking on the door and she ended up telling Walden that his work desk is facing the wrong way. Well, obviously, the desk was facing the living room, while his back had the view of Malibu beach.

If a billionaire can make such a mistake, so can you. However, that doesn’t mean that you always justify them. ALWAYS make sure that the alignment is proper when you design your creatives.

4) Charlie Gets Stuck With an Unfortunate Ringtone

Well the Jake-Charlie duo never failed to make us laugh our hearts out. One was such a situation when Jake went on a ‘walk’ with Celeste and both of them left their phones at home!

Celeste’s father being a strong-built man scared Charlie that he was fumbling and nothing was working out in his favor.

When Celeste’s father came knocking on his door, Charlie tried to call Jake and then played the infamous unfortunate ringtone. Charlie, an otherwise creative man, could not do anything to improve the situation. Instead, he somehow let the ringtone continue and made the situation worse.

And folks, that’s a sign for you that a creativity block can happen to the best of us. Don’t beat yourself up for it, you will get through it.

5) Alan Runs a Scam

I am 100% sure that you all know what I am talking about here. The miser Alan Harper managed to get money from his brother, mother, ex-wife, housekeeper, and God knows who else. He made all of them believe that they were making profits while he was chilling in his office with TV, popcorn, and other games.

And ladies and gentlemen, though this is the last lesson from this show, it is the most important one.

In order to earn fast, you must never scam your clients (UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE). Your talent and creativity will bring life to your design. You give value to each of your designs and each design of yours will bring some value to your clients.
